Div. 1 Tournament

A Team

The Knights played two games yesterday in the D1 tournament in Cumming. Getting the opportunity to play in this tournament was the result of their runner-up finish last week in out D2 tournament. A great opportunity to keep playing another week!

Game one was against Norcross A who is the top team in the state and undefeated. They jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first period with Andrew scoring once. The second period was more of the same as they scored 5 but the Knights added three from Jackson! In the third period, John, Alan, and Andrew each added one while holding Norcross to just two goals. In the fourth period, Barrett added one more as the Knights dropped a tough game 8-14. Scoring went as follows:

Andrew-2 goals

Jackson-3 goals

John-1 goal, 1 assist

Alan-1 goal, 2 assists

Barrett-1 goal, 1 assist

Carter-3 assists

Carter had 14 saves in goal.

Game 2 vs. Lakeside A

In what became the final game of the season for the Knights, they faced the #4 team in D1. Lakeside had the reputation of scoring quickly and they opened up with 2 in the fist period and Jackson netting one for us. The second period they added 4 more and Andrew scored his first of the game. In the third period, Lakeside pulled away scoring 6 while Andrew added two more. The fourth period had both teams with several chances, Lakeside scored twice and Andrew added one more giving him his 100th goal of the season! This was the third consecutive season where Andrew has scored 100 or more goals in a season. That is averaging just under, 6 goals per game for 17 games! Congratulations to Andrew and to his supporting cast that helped him accomplish this feat! Harris had a great game in goal, turning away 12 shots. The scoring went as follows:

Andrew-4 goals

Jackson-1 goal

John-1 assist

This concludes out season except for the All-Star games coming up shortly. Congratulations to the Water Polo Teams!

Go Knights!
