Soni Family Library

The Soni Family Library is a bright and welcoming space at the center of the Pace Academy Lower School. In addition to its collection of over 12,500 books, the library houses a comfortable space for storytime and discussion, a classroom area with tables for both individual and group work, and cozy reading nooks and window seats throughout.

The library and two librarians support the school community in their work to create prepared, confident citizens of the world through teaching Lower School students the enthusiastic, wise and ethical use of information and knowledge. The library serves as a learning hub for reading, research and resources for all members of the school community.

Each class of students visits weekly for library lessons focused on building library and research skills, developing a love of reading, and furthering information and digital literacy. Book check-out is part of each visit, with students also encouraged to drop by for additional visits, check-outs and reader’s advisory.

Additional engagement opportunities are offered throughout the year, including author visits, book fairs, contests and special guest readers. The collection, which includes access to multiple digital databases and other electronic resources, is focused on both engaging students and supporting the needs of the curriculum, faculty and staff.
