The Pace Academy Middle and Upper School theatre departments have revealed their 2019-2020 seasons. This year, the world’s most musical con man, the Knights Who Say “Ni,” homicidal fairies and scary-movie clichés will grace the Fine Arts Center stage.
The season kicks off with the Middle School play, The Hallmarks of Horror, a whirlwind tour through the horror-movie genre, which makes spine-chilling scenarios side-splitting. Performances will take place Oct. 3 and 4.
On Oct. 22 and 23, the Upper School will present She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen, a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, and Pace’s entrant into the Georgia High School Association’s One Act Play competition. The Upper School’s annual Winter Showcase, an evening of student-written and directed pieces and scenes from well-known productions, will hit the stage Jan. 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.
Spamalot, Monty Python’s musical parody of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, will gallop into the Fine Arts Center Feb. 20-21, and the Upper School spring musical, Meredith Wilson’s beloved Broadway classic The Music Man, will begin its run on April 2. The season will come to a close on April 17 at the Middle School’s Sketchy Improv!, half prepared sketch comedy and half unscripted improv hilarity.
