The 2018–2019 school year brought exceptional success for Pace Academy Athletics. Twenty varsity teams—11 girls squads and nine boys—qualified for the state playoffs, more than ever before.
Knights claimed four region championships and multiple individual state titles. The varsity baseball team finished the season as state runner-up, and our volleyball and boys and girls tennis teams were state champions. A noteworthy total of 23 students from the Class of 2019 representing nine sports will continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level—the most in school history.
With over 550 Middle and Upper School students participating on at least one athletic team, the Pace community, with Booster Club support, truly promotes the development of student-athletes who strive for excellence both in the classroom and on the field.
The Booster Club serves to enhance the experience of all Pace student-athletes, whether they compete at the club, Middle School, junior varsity or varsity level; to promote healthy habits throughout the entire student body; and to bolster school spirit within the Pace community.
Last year, the Booster Club renovated the Inman Center Team Room, enhanced the weight room with mirrors and graphics, branded the Riverview Sports Complex locker room building, added team photos on Riverview walls, and installed windscreens and dugout signage at our baseball and softball fields. New region championship banner will soon hang throughout the Inman Center gym, and the year’s most impactful project, the renovated Sports Medicine Room, will be completed by the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
In addition, the Booster Club funded student-led school spirit activities and Lower School playground equipment, sponsored the Kyle Pease Foundation assembly prior to the Pace Race, added a 100-wins banner for the wrestling room and provided support for community coaches.
This is only possible with the support of our Pace families. We encourage you to join the Booster Club to continue projects to enhance our student-athletes’ experiences!
Please consider getting involved: work the concession stand at a basketball game, volunteer at the Pace Race or serve as team parent. You will be rewarded by the undeniable enthusiasm and spirit of the Pace students.
On behalf of the Booster Club, welcome to another year of athletic excellence at Pace Academy. We sincerely appreciate your financial and volunteer support and look forward to seeing you in the bleachers!
