The Pace Athletics Sports Performance program helps student-athletes maximize their potential while supporting their long-term health, development and success. Our comprehensive program goes beyond simply improving athletic ability—it prepares athletes to compete safely and confidently.
Middle School
The Middle School sports and performance team focuses on building a strong foundation for our student-athletes. During middle school, student-athletes experience significant physical changes, including growth spurts, which allow for the development of greater skill and finer motor control. Through the Blueprint program, we provide tailored strength and conditioning plans that match each athlete's individual needs and experience level. Equally important to weight training is learning how to care for the body. We incorporate and teach best practices for flexibility and range of motion to minimize injuries. Our team collaborates with school nurses to ensure injuries are assessed and treated throughout the day during recess and PE periods. By the time middle school athletes move up to the upper school, they have established a strong foundation in preparing their bodies for the next level of competition.
Upper School
The Upper School sports and performance team focuses on helping our students transition into well-rounded athletes. Because many students have opportunities to participate at the varsity level in 9th grade, the sports performance team works to ensure they are physically ready to compete. Additionally, many student-athletes are engaged in other extracurricular activities as well as outside skill development in their respective sports, so we develop plans that are specific to whether an athlete is in-season or in their off-season. We work to ensure training is incorporated into their schedules in a way that allows them to grow and take care of their bodies. The work we do in the weight room focuses on injury prevention as much as strength building. Our goal is to create lifelong healthy habits by instilling the appropriate confidence, skills, and knowledge in strength, nutrition and flexibility to be successful in all of their athletic endeavors.
