VARSITY SOFTBALL GOES 1-1 IN REGION PLAY

It was a rainy week for Pace varsity softball, but the team went 1-1 in region play, shutting out Redan in three innings (0-16) and losing to Lovett (10-2) in five. This brings the Knights into their final week of regular-season play with an 11-8 overall record and a 7-2 regional record.

In the Lovett game, the Knights came out strong, taking the early lead by scoring one in their first at bat. Lovett responded with four runs, and the Knights never recovered due to errors. Junior Molly Buffenbarger, sophomore Helena Harris, sophomore Amalia Maxa and freshman Marissa Goodman all collected singles. Junior Jaime Kornheiser led the team with two hits, going 2-3.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL GOES UNDEFEATED IN FOUR GAMES

The varsity volleyball team showed tremendous gains this past week, defeating Lovett, Towers, Roswell and Chattahoochee.

Traveling to Lovett always presents a challenge, and this year was no different for the Knights. Lovett supplied a boisterous crowd, and its team was primed for a competitive match. Fortunately, Pace matched Lovett's intensity with junior Ada Jane Agolli's 12 kills, senior Alexandra Baker's 10 digs and sophomore Kalissa Greene's 17 assists. The highlight of the match was the serving of freshman Morgan Neill. On Neill's serve, Pace scored 10 points during both sets to surpass Lovett and secure the win.

The week continued with Pace travelling to Chattahoochee High School to face both Chattahoochee and Roswell. The Knights started slowly in both matches, losing the first set but rebounding to take the next two to secure wins. Agolli and Baker combined for a total of 47 kills in both matches. Greene added 44 assists, and junior Dominique Turner contributed 24 digs.

Next up, Pace travels to Woodward Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 2, to face both Woodward and Wesleyan. On Wednesday, Oct. 3, Pace will honor its seven seniors in a home match versus Hebron Christian at 5 p.m. in the Inman Center. The Knights hope to see a huge, supportive crowd.

KNIGHTS DOMINATE STONE MOUNTAIN 61-18, CATS AWAIT…

The varsity football team travelled to DeKalb County on Sept. 28 to deliver a "beatdown" against Stone Mountain, 61-18, at Hallford Stadium.

Senior running back Keashawn Perryman scored touchdowns on long runs and on special teams with a 93-yard kickoff return; senior quarterback Jared Rayman was on the money passing all night, throwing long passes and touchdowns to sophomore wide receiver Jayden Thomas. Running backs sophomore Justin Johnson and freshman Deuce Jordan also got in on the action with long runs, crushing blocks and multiple scores to lead a balanced, potent offensive attack. The Knights' special teams units had multiple punt blocks, long returns and field goals from the strong legs of seniors Patrick Markwalter and Jack Ferguson.

The defense brought pressure all night from senior defensive linemen Sam Assaf and Cameron Hamilton and junior Bridges Spencer, as well as junior linebackers Ben Caldwell, Will Rehmert and Sam Harris. Junior safety Jimbo Smith had an interception, and junior cornerbacks Mbiti Williams and Evan Duncan covered the Stone Mountain receivers like they were their shadows.

Next up for the Knights: Friday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m., HOME GAME vs WESTMINSTER at WALSH FIELD. The Knights need everyone to come out and support the team in this region game versus this neighborhood rival!
