Clyde L. Reese III '76 Award Pledge
Clyde Reese, along with his cousin, Marsha Reese, and her cousin, Alonzo Brown, enrolled in the sixth grade at Pace Academy in 1969, and became Pace’s first graduates of color in 1976. Clyde subsequently received degrees from Georgia State University and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Today, most know him as Judge Clyde L. Reese III, following his 2016 appointment to Georgia’s Court of Appeals.
To honor Judge Reese and his substantial achievements, and to promote a Pace culture that supports and values Pace students who represent diversity in its many shapes and forms, the Association of Black Pace Academy Alumni established the Clyde L. Reese III ’76 Book Award in 2019. The award will recognize a sophomore or junior student who demonstrates a commitment to a diverse and inclusive community at Pace Academy as well as other exemplary qualities.
