A Final Tribute

Since this is the last edition of KnightLights for the 2019-2020 school year, Director of Athletics Dr. Troy Baker would like to share some final words with the Class of 2020.

Seniors:

I’m sure you have encountered innumerable posts, memes, letters and speeches extolling the virtues of resilience and the importance of overcoming adversity. You have been told that your sacrifice has contributed to the greater good and to be grateful for what you have. You have also been told that these challenges will only make you stronger in the future. All of the things that people are telling you are valid and important. However, throughout your time as a Pace student-athlete, you have already proven that you know what it means to be selfless and resilient. I don’t feel the need to remind you; I watched you live it.

Instead, I want to simply say thank you for bringing so much energy and excitement to the Pace community. We will look back on these past four years with a tremendous sense of pride, and we hope that you do the same. As you move on to college and beyond, we hope you carry these lessons and virtues with you. Remember that Pace is your home, and you have earned the right to call it your own.
