The varsity girls basketball team faced region foe Therrell High School on Dec. 10. The Knights came out strong in the first quarter and built a 15-6 lead going into the second, when they picked up the defensive intensity, causing forced turnovers and holding a strong 28-8 halftime lead.
Overall, the Knights provided a great defensive effort from start to finish in a 53-15 victory. The team also outrebounded Therrell by a 2:1 ration and had over 20 points in transition. Everyone contributed in some manner, juniors Gabby Hudson (20 pts, 6 rebs, 4 steals), Margo Kaye (5 rebs, 5 ast, 3 steals), Megan Hardesty (4 pts), Dylan Baker (6 rebs, 9 steals) and Morgan Neill (6 rebs) led the way. Senior Hannah Vincent chipped in with 7 points and 6 rebounds, and freshman Reed Milner played well down low with 6 hard-fought rebounds.
