Water Polo A Team Wraps Up Outstanding Season

On Oct. 3, the water polo A team faced St. Pius in the second-round game of the state tournament. The Knights looked to show how much they have improved since early August. St. Pius took an early lead before sophomore Avi Narula scored three goals and had one assist, and junior Carter Freudenstein scored one and had one assist to make the score 4-5. In the second quarter, the Knights heated up and scored five goals while allowing only two; they led 9-7 at the half. 

In the third quarter, St. Pius fought back and outscored the Knights 5-1 to take the lead, 12-10.  The Knights played hard to the end. Junior Barrett Hight added a goal in each of the final two quarters. Senior Cameron Saini played his best game of the season in goal, turning away 16 shots. Freshman Reid Richardson added two assists; Hight and freshman Henry Bryan each had one. The Knights ultimately feel 9-13.
