A 3rd-Straight State Title for Girls Cross-Country

The varsity girls cross-country season came to a tremendously successful close on Saturday, Nov. 5, in Carrollton, Ga. Only two girls in the Knights’ top seven runners had ever raced in a state meet: junior Caroline Hood and senior Kate Webb. Despite their youth, the region champions continued their momentum to bring home a third consecutive state title. The Knights’ performance placed them as the second best overall team across all classifications, finishing only behind Marietta High School.

State runner Caroline Hood led the team, finishing second overall. Next across the line for the Knights was sophomore newcomer Zahara Bernal in fourth place, followed by freshman Harriet Blaha in fifth, sophomore Olivia Resnick in 10th, freshman Eva Swales in 13th, senior Kate Webb in 40th and senior Elizabeth Feagin in 41st. The girls placed four runners on the Class AAAA All-State Team and had a total team score of 34. Congratulations on an amazing season!
