Celebrating Black History Month

This month, we’ve enjoyed celebrating Black History Month across all three divisions—and we’re not done! The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s Black History Month programming has included presentations from students, families and artists to honor the ongoing contributions, locally and globally, of Black people. While we’re celebrating on campus, we invite you to join us at home! Here are a few activities and resources to engage your family with this meaningful cultural celebration.

Introduced in the Lower School, the Black History Month Activity Passport includes multiple ways to celebrate Black History with your family. Use the QR codes on the sheet to discover places to visit around Atlanta and other ways to learn more about Black history. As a reminder, Lower School students who complete four activities will receive a bracelet for their intentional effort and curiosity.

Please also consider visiting one (or more) Black-owned restaurants in the city with your family to celebrate the month during—and beyond—February. Pace families compiled a list of Black-owned restaurants in Atlanta, which organizes restaurants by cuisine, such as American, BBQ, Caribbean and desserts.

In honor of Black History Month, Pace is hosting The Cookout, an inaugural celebration for families in all divisions who represent the Black and African diaspora on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. in Boyd Gym. To confirm your attendance, RSVP here.
