Celebrating Ramadan in the Lower School

To mark the arrival of Ramadan, Lower School parents led by Hanan Idris worked with Head of Lower School Dorothy Hutcheson and Lower School Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator Amy Underwood to create a Good Deeds Tree in the Pre-First hall.

The Muslim holy month is a period of introspection, communal prayer and fasting. Throughout the month, Pre-First students have been asked to reflect on their good deeds and to record them on leaves, which are then placed on the Good Deeds Tree. They will celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan, on Monday, May 2. Stop by the Lower School’s Soni Family Library to check out the Ramadan and Eid books on display.
