Hispanic Heritage Month: A Celebration

Lower School students are in the midst of celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, which honors the cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, students are learning about the histories and cultures of Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. Dance, music, food, holidays and historical contributions of Hispanic people are on the agenda.

As a part of the celebration, each morning second- and fifth-grade students read about famous Latinx people in both Spanish and English, and Lower School bulletin boards display images of the influential individuals students are studying.
