Meet ICGL Visiting Scholar Andrew Hoffman ’01

On Sept. 29 and 30, the Isdell Center for Global Leadership (ICGL) and the Pace community will welcome Andrew Hoffman ’01, the first Pace alumnus to serve as ICGL Visiting Scholar. As part of the ICGL’s Year of Climate, Hoffman will return to campus to engage students across all divisions and help spark our yearlong exploration of how today’s young leaders can shape a more sustainable future.

As chief development officer at Leap, a San Francisco–based software platform that connects clean technology providers to energy markets, Hoffman works at the forefront of climate innovation. His career has included roles at CalCom Solar, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, EnerNOC and FTI Consulting, along with early experience on The Big Green Bus, a cross-country education initiative powered by waste vegetable oil. With a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, Hoffman brings both deep expertise and personal passion to his work in building a cleaner, more resilient energy grid.

During his visit, Hoffman will meet with students in every grade, talk with AP Physics classes, lunch with this year’s Isdell Global Leaders cohort and join members of the Pace community for the Knights Circle dinner. His time on campus will set the tone for the year as students explore the question: What kind of climate future do we want to create—and how do we get there?
