On Dec. 6, the ICGL, the Woodruff Library and 12 Upper School students began participating in a cultural exchange book club with representatives from PRECE schools in Brazil. The organization has partnered with the ICGL in the past to host student and faculty exchanges. Given the inability to travel due to COVID, the ICGL is utilizing virtual connections to facilitate this year’s cultural exchange.
This week, Pace and PRECE students are connecting on WhatsApp, creating a Spotify playlist, sharing book recommendations and teaching each other their respective languages. They will soon read the book Ways to Disappear by Idra Novey. The novel dives into the life of a Brazilian author who disappears in a Rio de Janeiro park and her American translator’s quest to find her.
