The first gathering of In Our Neighbors’ Shoes (IONS), a monthly community-building group for parents and caregivers across all three divisions, was a great success! A special thank you to the parents who showed up ready to engage in authentic conversations. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is excited to continue the conversation with the next IONS meeting on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m.
In honor of Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month, Pace Academy is hosting a reception for Latinx and Hispanic families. This bilingual gathering will be held primarily in Spanish on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 12:30 p.m. in the Kam Memar Lower School’s Gandhi Hall—save the date and email Director of Equity and Inclusion Bria Samuels ’13 with any questions.
As part of Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month, Lower School students will participate in the Pulsera Project for the 11th year in a row. This year, the Pulsera Project has been expanded to all three divisions to support the ongoing commitment that the Lower School has demonstrated to this cause. The Pulsera Project is a nonprofit organization that empowers young Nicaraguan artisans through the sale of their colorful hand-woven bracelets (pulseras) in the United States. A special thanks to Sra. Vivi Lopez and Sra. Poli Aparicio for their leadership and support of our student volunteers.
