This Week in Athletics: State Tournament News

The action and excitement just keep coming as our Knights continue their winning ways in postseason play. Today, the varsity baseball team hosts Haralson High School in the third of a three-game series to determine which team will advance to the Elite Eight round of the state tournament. The game starts at 5 p.m. at Charlie Owens Field. Admission ($7) is limited, and the Booster Club will cover the cost of student admission.

Then, at 6 p.m. this Friday, May 7, the varsity boys lacrosse team will host Holy Innocents’ in an Elite Eight matchup at Riverview Sports Complex. Spectators are unlimited, and the Booster Club will cover the cost of student admission. In addition, our track and field teams will travel to Gordon Central High School May 7 and 8 to compete in the sectional meet.

On Saturday, both varsity tennis teams will attempt to capture state titles as they face Lovett in their respective championships at the Rome Tennis Center. Finally, both the varsity girls and boys soccer teams defeated their opponents yesterday evening to earn spots in the GHSA Final Four. Games will take place early next week; check the Pace Athletics Calendar for updates.

Pace parents: Please remember to register your students for 2021-2022 interscholastic/club sports by May 7.
