We take pride in offering an assortment of summer programs to fit the interests of all students. The majority of our summer programs are available to students of all schools, not exclusively Pace Academy students, unless otherwise specified in a program's description. We strive for excellence in offering the best camper experiences in the metro Atlanta area!

Junior Mechanical Engineering: Let's Make Toys (Rising K - 1 Grades)

In the Junior Mechanical Engineering: Let's Make Toys camp, our youngest engineers will be introduced to fundamental concepts of energy, materials, and movement. Campers will explore and construct different toys, including spinners, magical boomerang cans, wind-up whirligigs, and more that they can take home to continue their summer fun!
Students should bring a peanut free snack and a water bottle each day.
Marine Science Camp (Rising 6 - 8 Grades)

Description:
Discover the lure of the ocean - the weather, animals, and plants, the secrets to navigation, and the amazing creatures of the deep. Explore the inner workings of a squid and fish through dissection and why they are so adapted to life in the water. Discover how otters find their way home and how seals find their parents. Kids will get in the water.
We are tentatively scheduling a trip to the Georgia Aquarium with this camp. The cost of admission is included in the price for camp. Parents/Guardians would need to be able to drop their child off and pick up from Georgia Aquarium one day. Subject to COVID 19 regulations.

Description:
Campers will learn the basics of coding and computer science as they are immersed in STEM activities. Campers will collaborate to program robots to complete tasks, work with emojis as they into the online Codemoji platform, and participate in offline unplugged coding activities and games. Throughout the program, students will design a website and learn to utilize their newly acquired coding skills to advance through interactive lessons. The Codemoji Coder 1.0 program will challenge students as they advance through HTML, CS, and JS coding basics and promote the desire to continue their coding learning outside of the classroom.

Description:
Does your camper love navigating how things work on a computer? CODEMOJI's computer science programs teach students to enjoy all things related to coding and the web while building problem solving and creative thinking skills. Our staff of educators deliver clear, entertaining instruction to ensure students have fun while learning complex coding skills using popularized emojis that represent HTML text, which lowers the barriers to new coders and increases their excitement and understanding of computer science. Students build animations, websites, and video games; explore multiple coding languages; program robots; create STEM-based projects both on and offline; and are encouraged to share their projects when they get home on our web-based platform. Students also work with interactive circuit boards to understand the basics of currents and work with their teacher to build a handful of fun hands-on projects!

The Pace Middle School Debate camp is designed to help Grades 5-8 learn more about debate. Students do not need any debate experience to attend this program. The focus of the program is to introduce younger students to best practices and age/developmentally appropriate techniques in speaking and debating with goals of improving their confidence, critical thinking/problem solving, organization, persuasive writing ability, in addition to effective delivery. The students will be placed in smaller groups, "labs", based on age and experience which will serve as a "homeroom" for them where they will work with two primary instructors. The camp will focus on teaching the basics of public speaking and formal debating. Students will get the opportunity to practice debates daily. For those with interest we will also focus on events sponsored by the Atlanta Urban Debate League.
Shark Week Comes to Pace (Rising 6 - 8 Grades)

Sharks, one of the greatest fears but also one of the most important species in the world! Dive into a week-long exploration of the fact and fiction behind these misunderstood creatures! Understand how sharks use physics to their advantage, how their biology helps them adapt, and what you can do to keep them safe. Kids will see if they can “race” a shark.

LEGO STEM Engineering: LEGO and K'nex Theme Park (Rising K - 2 Grades)

Join us as we build our very own theme parks using LEGO, K'NEX and other awesome materials. Theme park design allows campers to learn and test the science behind roller coasters, giant slides, and other theme park activities. Build a giant loop and race against other teams in friendly competitions, use legos to make a zip line glider, and then make a video from the riders perspective as you crash through your concession stand sending LEGOS everywhere!
Natural World 2021 (Rising 1 - 6 Grades)

There’s an exciting World of Nature waiting to be discovered! Campers will explore nature from new perspectives as we extract DNA, conduct a Bio Blitz, explore the intricate symbiosis of plants and animals, gain an understanding of the food web, dig into the history of our planet through analysis of fossils, and much more!

This is a four day camp program of July 19 - July 22. This program will not meet on Friday (July 23).

For many students the first week of Middle School is as exciting as going to a theme park. They enter a whole new world filled with opportunities and independence. A successful adventure into this new world requires personal management and organization. Setting up systems and learning how to navigate multiple classes, teachers, and schedules can be quite a challenge. Camp Kickstart provides the “behind the scenes tour” to help students prepare for their adventure.
All activities will be focused on boosting campers personal tool kits to assist with the transition to middle school. Emphasis will be placed on communicating with teachers in verbal and written formats. Understanding teacher postings, acquiring study strategies, practicing note taking, setting up time management plans, and nurturing personal organization will all be presented and incorporated into daily activities throughout Camp Kickstart. This small group setting is a great opportunity for students to ease into the world of middle school while becoming comfortable with the many opportunities and supports available to each student. Campers will be encouraged to stop by the Academic Resource Center to showcase their new skills throughout the school year.

“Let’s play a game,” is a phrase that brings smiles to so many faces. Games are a great way to interact with others, reduce anxiety, fuel problem-solving abilities and creativity! At camp, students will dive into board games, card games, puzzles, and crafts. Each session will be filled with opportunities for students to develop logic and reasoning skills , improve critical thinking and boost spatial reasoning.
Camp Refresh (Rising 7 and 8 Grade New Pace Students)
This is a four day camp program of July 19 - July 22. This program will not meet on Friday (July 23).
