Class of 2030

What year did you start at Pace?

I started in sixth grade.

Describe the activities you are involved in.

At Pace, I play football, basketball, and run track and field. I have grown a very strong passion for football since I started playing at five years old. Over the years, the sport has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the value of teamwork.

What is something you have gotten involved in at Pace that you did not know you would want to participate in when you were a prospective student?

I chose the Student Ambassador group because I didn’t think I would get involved in anything outside of sports. But then I signed up to be an ambassador, and it turned out to be a great experience. I really enjoyed it and was glad I stepped outside my comfort zone.

How has Pace prepared you for college both academically and non-academically?

Pace has prepared me both athletically and academically. The academic expectations have taught me the importance of hard work and responsibility. Competitive football and basketball programs have pushed me to grow as a player. Coach Sekou, in particular, has had the biggest impact on me—he’s always been there for me, both on and off the field, supporting me with whatever I’ve needed.

How would you describe Pace to your peers?

Pace is a warm and welcoming community. When I first arrived, I only knew two people, but I quickly made many friends who are always there for me. The teachers are just as supportive. I’ve been able to build strong relationships with them, and they consistently offer help and honest feedback to help me grow and improve.
