IN WHAT GRADE DID YOU JOIN PACE?
WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED IN AT PACE?
At Pace, I am a Varsity Cheerleader, I sing in the Pace Chorus, and with the women’s performance group, The Knightingales. I love being part of the Student Ambassador Program to help prospective students learn about what makes Pace a unique school. I have always been passionate about theatre, so I enjoy being part of the Pace Drama department as well. Outside of school, I dance at Atlanta Ballet.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PACE?
I chose Pace because it felt like a welcoming community of faculty and students who support one another. Along with the challenging academics, strong athletics, and creative art and music programs, the Pace community is inclusive, friendly, and takes care of each other. Pace feels like a family that is always there for you, no matter what your interests are or who you are. I am so lucky to go to a school that feels like my home.
WHAT SHOULD PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS KNOW ABOUT PACE?
Pace is truly a special place where everyone's voices are heard and everyone is supported to challenge themselves and to grow as students and people. There are so many things about the school that would draw prospective students in. The college-level academics, outstanding athletics, incredibly impressive Visual and Performing Arts, and the tight- knit community. For me, the ICGL program is also a very exciting opportunity unique to Pace because it gives every student the opportunity to travel the world, get outside of their own experiences, and learn about world issues and other cultures.
WHO HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE TEACHER?
My favorite class overall is History. But more specifically, I loved Ms. Stevens's Ancient World History Honors class during my freshman year. Ms. Stevens truly challenged us to really learn and make in-depth connections that went beyond memorization. On top of that, she was so funny and made lecture-based classes feel like you were actually in ancient times with her stories and teaching style. The material was challenging, fascinating, and the class was always the highlight of my day!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PACE TRADITION?
My favorite Pace tradition is Spirit Week! It happens right after Winter Break and your entire grade comes together to create a performance based on the theme for the year. It allowed me to really bond with my grade and it was such an incredibly fun time. The high energy performances from each grade were amazing because everyone participates and goes all out. We all really get into the theme, decorations, and dances, so it is a really fun time to be at Pace.
