IN WHAT GRADE DID YOU JOIN PACE?
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PACE?
While it was more my parents' choice than my own at that age, they recognized the sense of community and academic rigor that Pace offers. Over the years, I have come to recognize and appreciate that myself.
WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED IN AT PACE?
I am a member and co-captain of the varsity girls' soccer team and President of the Class of 2022. I also serve as a Student Ambassador and Vice President of Finance for Miracle Knights. I play piano as well as club soccer at Concorde Fire. This year, I am a candidate for the 2021 Student of the Year Competition for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
HOW HAVE YOU GROWN DURING YOUR TIME AT PACE?
Almost my entire life has been at Pace. From the Lower School playground to Walsh Field, this community has helped me grow in all aspects of life. The people who surround me and the opportunities available to me are heavily responsible for this. Not only have I met lifelong friends who help me through every one of my own challenges, but Pace's teachings and programs have broadened my understanding of the world around me.
HOW HAS PACE PREPARED YOU FOR COLLEGE?
Pace's tight-knit community is a constant reminder to be my best self, both socially and academically. One of my greatest takeaways from Pace is definitely time management. Pace provides a very nice balance of structure and freedom for students. They give us the opportunity to complete some work at school, but it is up to us to take advantage of that time. Going into college, that really sets the stage for living on my own without any reminders from parents.
WHAT SHOULD PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS KNOW ABOUT PACE?
Pace has it all. From a rigorous learning environment to the competitive nature of sports and after-school activities, Pace really pushes you to be the best version of yourself. I'm so grateful to have experienced this for so long. Pace provides their students with opportunities for success, and the teachers want you to succeed just as much as you want to, if not more. With a variety of clubs, activities, and classes, Pace is the perfect blend to create a well-rounded student, and most importantly, person.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLASS?
Math is my favorite class for sure. I love the complexity that it brings and find it very satisfying to come to one correct answer. Mr. Smith is one of my favorite teachers. I had him the past two years for math. He is very organized and very predictable, which is comfortable to me. You always know what to expect, but his class still comes as a challenge to most of his students.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PACE?
My favorite thing about Pace is definitely the community. I've made so many quality friendships here than one could ever imagine. On top of that, the teachers really make the Pace experience. While each one has a little bit of a different style, they all share similar characteristics. They are comforting and are always there if you need help, but also push your limits and challenge you. They expect you to think outside of the box and to work hard to achieve great things, and understand that it doesn't just come naturally to everyone. Importantly, they really want you to succeed. I couldn't ask for more from my teachers.
