IN WHAT GRADE DID YOU JOIN PACE?

9th grade

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED IN AT PACE?

I have always loved playing baseball and have played on both the JV and Varsity teams at Pace. I have enjoyed making new friends with the boys on the team and becoming a better player in the process.

In addition to baseball, I also have been a part of the Knight Capital investment club for the past two years. I took on the responsibility of being the President last year and hope to continue to hold the role until I graduate in 2022. Last year, Knight Capital's investments made $7,000 that we donated to the school. I also joined the Frisbee Club as a way to spend more time with my friends.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE PACE?

I chose Pace because it has the best balance of academics, athletics and social life. I always wanted a balanced high school experience and Pace has given that experience to me.

HOW HAVE YOU GROWN DURING YOUR TIME AT PACE?

Through my leadership role in Knight Capital and interactions with my peers I have grown into a more confident young man. This confidence then transferred onto the baseball field and helped me make the varsity team.

HOW HAS PACE PREPARED YOU FOR COLLEGE?

In my opinion confidence and leadership are two incredibly important aspects to being successful in college and in the real world. I feel like my teachers and friends at Pace have turned me into a confident leader that can be successful beyond our Pace bubble. Academically, Mr. Ewing and all my teachers have always challenged me to take the most challenging classes in order for me to grow into the best student I can be.

WHO HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOU DURING YOUR TIME AT PACE?

Mr. Smith, my math teacher sophomore year, has impacted me the most in my two years at Pace. Last year, he challenged me daily to improve on what I did the day before in order for me to be a better version of myself by the end of the year. Not only did I become a better math student, but I also feel like I became a better classmate.
