Upper School Deans Fund

As the Class of 2026 nears the end of its time at Pace, it's easy to focus on the future and the excitement that the next year holds. But before these students leave the halls behind for new beginnings, it's important to take a look back as well. Each senior has come this far with the guidance and support of Pace faculty and staff, and class deans are integral to that experience. Pace's dedicated deans provide invaluable academic and personal counsel from ninth grade through graduation, helping each student navigate their Upper School journey.

In recognition of this critical role class deans play for both students and their families, Pace is proud to continue the Upper School Deans Fund, an endowment in their honor. Your endowed gift will be invested in perpetuity with Pace’s endowment and managed in accordance with Pace's gift acceptance policies and endowment spending policy.

The annual spending from this endowed fund will enhance overall Upper School student life and mental health programming–two areas where class deans make a direct and lasting impact. Specifically, spending from the fund will be overseen by Upper School deans and will support programs that benefit all students and provide professional development opportunities for our deans, allowing them to grow in service to Pace students while also helping equip other Upper School faculty and staff with the skills to support students effectively.

Contributions to the Upper School Deans Fund will not only recognize the tireless work of our class deans but also help shape the lives of current and future students, ensuring access to the resources and opportunities necessary to thrive both academically and personally. Families who make a gift in honor of a graduating senior, will see their student recognized as making a gift in honor of Ben Ewing, dean of the Class of 2026.

Questions about the Upper School Deans Fund may be directed to Director of Advancement Heather White or Director of Admissions and Advancement Strategic Initiatives Mac McCallum. Pace is deeply grateful for the continued support of the community and invites families to join in this parting tribute by making a gift to the Upper School Deans Fund today!

Mr. Ewing was not just a dean to me; he was a role model. From an early age, he showed me what it looks like to lead with empathy, to care deeply for others, and to be present. The lessons I learned from him have shaped the person I am today and continue to guide me in my career.

I have never met anyone who truly cares about their students the way Mr. Ewing does. He goes out of his way to get to know every student, whether in his dean class or in one of his courses. Mr. Ewing is a constant presence, always supporting and checking in on each student. He reached out without hesitation during my most difficult times and was always there to celebrate my achievements. I am forever grateful for Mr. Ewing and the impact he has had, not only on me, but on the entire Class of 2022 and everyone fortunate enough to have him as a dean or teacher.
